Tim is known for his subtle use of texture and colour on porcelain, but this latest work moves him into uncharted territory. Each of his unique containers are thrown on the wheel, ceramic boxes enclosing a space filled with texture, colour and surprise. The new flowing, loosely applied glazes surround and enclose precise forms, creating a dichotomy between the interior and exterior space. Smooth, glossy or textured each of these coloured pieces begs to be handled.
Tim gained an MA in Contemporary Craft at Plymouth College of Art and has exhibited widely in this country and abroad and has been a professional member of Contemporary Potters Association, the Society of Designer Craftsmen, the Devon Guild of Craftsmen and was a selected maker for the Crafts Council. Tim’s work has won many awards and has been featured in various books and magazines.
