Sarah has a degree in Fine Art from Plymouth University and whilst painting is her past time, it has developed into a textile medium. Painting has influenced her woven wall pieces and this is apparent in her fluid, painterly weaving style. Her weaves are inspired by her surroundings as well as more abstract patterns and colours. Sarah lives and works in Plymouth and is lucky to be surrounded by lots of beautiful, varying and drastic landscapes.
Sarah’s love of weaving developed when painting became increasingly challenging and impractical with a young child at home. Weaving felt like an organic progression from painting. She is self taught and adopts several weaving techniques to create her wall hangings. She is always learning new ways of working and endeavours to source natural, eco friendly wool whenever possible.
Sarah loves how experimental and therapeutic weaving is. Every piece is entirely hand made and unique.
